Pentair Kreepy Krauly Prowler 830 Robotic Pool Cleaner with Remote
Pentair Kreepy Krauly Prowler 830 Robotic Pool Cleaner
Computer-controlled cleaners that operate independently from the pump and filter system
Robotic cleaners are powered by low-voltage electricity, rather than a pool or booster pump. Since the pump runs less, energy costs are reduced. Plus, their built-in filter further reduces use of a pool's primary filtration system lowering energy costs even more, extending the life of both the pump and filter, and increasing the amount of time between filter cleanings. Robotic cleaners are also convenient; customers can just plug it in and place it in their pool. Some even have remote controls so the pool owner can steer the unit from a lounge chair for easy spot cleaning!
The Prowler 830 Remote Control provides the ultimate in automatic pool cleaning convenience. It's the computer-controlled, programmed cleaner that scrubs and vacuums pool's bottom, walls and steps and provides supplemental filtration of pool water. The wireless radio remote control system provides two automatic cleaning options: one for the pool bottom and a second for the bottom and sides. Remote control functions allow for overriding the automatic cleaning modes to perform quick spot clean-ups Simply guide the cleaner to any area of the pool with the touch of a button. It requires no installation, no booster pump, and no hoses.

Not up to all the hype - What a waste of money and time!
Posted by JOHN VAL on 21st Sep 2016
The Prowler 830 does not live to its hype. While it tries to scale up the sides of the pool and scrubs along the bottom of walls, it has yet to reach the water level. The manual provides excuses like the pool walls are too slippery or its contents make it too heavy to scale. None of these were valid since I scrubbed walls meticulously and emptied the prowler of its debris. None of the filters worked on collecting algae residue(chloramines) either. Instead, the built-in fan that provides the suction spread the algae residue throughout the pool making it a bigger mess. Also, it was not able to learn the pool shape as I watched sections of the pool not get cleaned despite several attempts. Its path was very random and not at all methodical as one would expect from an intelligent cleaner. The remote was not very effective in the dictating the prowlers direction. While it reacted to the buttons I pressed on the remote, the machine was less than committed to the direction I set for it as if it was stubborn and wanted to return to its randomness within seconds. The debris containers do not have much space to collect many leaves. The sensor will indicate the container is full with just a few leaves (6-8). Often leaves get jammed in the suction inlets so when you remove the prowler 830 out of the water, much of the dirt and debris returns right back into the pool water. The inlets are not well designed for collecting leaves, more for sand or small insects. Rebates are more difficult to obtain than they make it seem online. Both the login and rebate status were never worked for me so don`t rely on getting your rebate. I wish I had purchased a polaris or dolphin cleaner. I am terribly disappointed in this product.
